1) Visit the Seaside
One of the attraction here at Pantai Redang Beach (热浪沙滩) Sekinchan is this big old wishing tree entangled with red ribbons knotted with coins. Visitors can write their wishes on a red ribbon and tie with a coin and throw it up to the three.
2) Visit the Paddy Field
The field is green from middle of March till May (and middle of Sep till Nov), goes yellowish in mid of May till June (and mid of Nov till Dec). Transplanting is in early of March and early of Sep. Jan-Feb (July to August) is resting time, hence not exactly suggested to go at this period.
Pay RM5, receive 1 small packet of rice as a token of appreciation, walk up the Paddy Museum to have better understanding of paddy plantation process. The entire gallery is mini, but the effort is good in getting general public to know further on all the hardwork behind your daily staple.
4) Eat seafood
There are many seafood restaurant around Sekinchan, such as Hao Xiang Chi Seafood Restaurant, Guan Seng Long Restaurant, Jiann Chyi Restaurant, Restaurant Bagan Sekinchan, Wan Lau Seafood Restaurant and more. Restaurant Cha Po Tion is the most famous in town.
5)Ah Ma House
Ah Ma House (阿嬤的家) / Grandma House is one of the many tourist attractions in Sekinchan. It is actually a bakery shop selling kuih kapit (love letters / egg waffle) and other traditional Malaysia local snacks, biscuit and dessert. The grandma egg waffle sold here has rich traditional taste according to the visitors. Ah Ma House is also a nice photography spot besides the food as you can find many vintage furniture and traditional appliances decorated nicely in the house. Those appliances were used by our grandmother decades ago, hence the name Ah Ma House, as Ah Ma means grandmother in Hokkien.
6) Eat Mango
Mango King is a kampung house selling one of the popular fruit produce in Sekinchan. Many visitor come here to purchase the of fresh Sekinchan mangoes.
